In case you haven't noticed, and you haven't because you haven't been reading this...I am not a blogger. And apparently, none of you are either. Dan noticed, he is a blogger. I never kept a diary and never developed the skills or desire to jot down my thoughts and daily activities for others to read at some random later date. I don't think my brain processes information in a way that would even make my journal coherent, let alone interesting. So I understand that this blog will be used in a flurry once a year after our annual gathering, whenever that may be. And at least by me, mostly to post photos.
WYNE in October: This was the email suggestion I've been sending around to everyone. MLK weekend will not work for me due to the expected arrival of my second child sometime after Christmas. I initially suggested Labor Day weekend, but there are too many weddings to make it work for a large group. And since I know what my schedule, and I'm typically the one who puts this shit together, I'm suggesting October 12-15 in Eugene, OR. It works for me and by the individual emails I've sent, it seems to work for most of you.
How can we have a WYNE reunion only 10 months after the last gathering? Well, we either have it 10 months later or 24 months later. I'm pushing for 10 months between parties this year, then get back to the regular MLK weekend in 2009. And looking into the future, 2009 and beyond, we might want to consider exploring other cities with the WYNE weekend. At one point, Vats had suggested New Orleans, but then it sunk like Atlantis. Turns out it was a pretty good idea, but we were all too broke to take it seriously. Something to think about anyway.
See you in Eugene on October 12-15.

Nobody is Reading This Shit
I think enough of us have agreed that W.Y.N.E will go back to its roots and occur in Eugene this year. There was some discussion that the weekend occur some time other than Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. That discussion promptly died. Seeing as I have no excuse not to attend (nor does anyone who lives in the Northern California/Pacific Northwest region) I will come whenever it is held. However, let me make the following argument for it occurring at its usual date and time:
1. Eugene weather always sucks - there is never any gurantee it will be good even if we had W.Y.N.E it in the middle of August;
2. Tradition says the weather is shitty and thus we have no choice but to stay inside and drink mindlessly;
3. Because it occurs during the same weekend every year, there is no question that it will occur. Trying to switch dates might result in bedlam and thus in not occurring at all;
4. We're all getting old. I need a full year to recover;
5. The convenience of MLK weekend is that no one has to take a day off.
I think the biggest concern the last two years has been lack of turnout. Seeing as no one, sans Vats, would have to fly this year, there is no excuse not to attend other than "you do not want to attend", which really isn't an excuse but is nevertheless more valid than "wah wah . .I have too much sand in my vagina . . . " and so on and so forth. In any event, I would agree to any date and time that would maximize turnout and participation.

Where Are Your Photos?
Listen people, I didn't start this to just post my own photos. And it is not intended to be the exclusive site of MLK Weekend photos. I hope that you will feel free to post items of interest to this group of people and get some feedback. So please, get some of your photos uploaded or post some interesting articles and links.
